This private family homeis a contemporary design which has its creative roots in Vernacular Irish Architecture of the traditional rural cottage. This approach to design in the countryside acknowledges our built heritage whilst providing a modern house for 20thcentury. The design approach is favoured by the CountyPlannersfor this reason and is encouraged by both architects and planners alike. From the exterior the house nestles subtly into the landscape. The high quality finishes and glazing are simple and inconspicuous, free of unnecessary clutter, lending focus to interesting voids and solids in the thoughtfully assembled plan.
